Sydney — Australia’s fintech Zepto has launched Zepto Validate, a real-time account verification solution aimed at tackling payment fraud and transaction errors. Built on the national Confirmation of Payee framework, the new tool adds Zepto’s proprietary risk intelligence to prevent scams and failed transfers before money moves.

The launch builds upon Australia’s recently introduced Confirmation of Payee (CoP) framework, developed by Australian Payments Plus (AP+) and major banks. The CoP system matches account names, BSBs, and account numbers with recipient bank records to prevent scams and mistaken transfers before funds are released.

Zepto Validate enhances this infrastructure by integrating Zepto’s proprietary payment intelligence, which adds a risk score tailored to each merchant’s type, account history, and fraud patterns. The system also identifies jointly held accounts and recommends the most secure payment channel, offering businesses a single-step decision process for verifying recipients.

“Zepto Validate, coupled with Confirmation of Payee, should give you confidence before money moves, not questions after it fails,” said Trevor Wistaff, Zepto’s Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer.

Cutting Failures, Boosting Trust

By verifying accounts before payments are initiated, Zepto Validate aims to reduce transaction failures and streamline onboarding for companies operating in sectors prone to invoice errors and fraudulent transfers.

The solution connects directly with AP+ infrastructure, providing near-instant validation while maintaining compliance with Australia’s growing real-time payments ecosystem.

Early adopters include Satori, which is integrating Zepto Validate into its OK2Pay fraud-prevention platform, as well as Marmalade and PointsBet, both of which use Zepto’s payment technologies to improve payout integrity.

“This partnership will help our customers mitigate risks of errors and compromised bank accounts in real time,” said Gavin Steinberg, CEO of Satori.

Real-Time Payments, Real-Time Protection

Zepto’s real-time architecture positions it within a growing fintech push to make digital payments not just faster but safer. The company says it is working on expanding its Insights layer, which will introduce richer fraud modelling and channel intelligence for businesses handling large-scale transactions programmatically.

Available both as a standalone product and via API integration, Zepto Validate can be deployed by Australian businesses in less than a day, marking another step in the nation’s shift toward secure real-time payment ecosystems.
