How the Fraud Was Exposed

According to investigators, the certificates submitted by the students lacked authentic signatures and seals of the District Magistrate’s office. The fraud came to light during the post-counseling verification process, when officials confirmed that the documents were entirely fake.

Rajeev Yadav, Sadar Tehsildar, in his complaint, wrote that the certificates had no legal validity and were fabricated with the intent of misleading authorities.

Students Under Scanner

All accused students belong to different localities of Ghazipur city, including Gorabazar and Malgodam Road areas. Officials said the forged documents were first identified at the ADM level, following which a case of cheating and fraud was lodged.

Experts Warn of Rising Education Scams

The case has triggered concern over the growing menace of education-related frauds.
Former IPS officer and cybercrime expert Prof. Triveni Singh stated:

Competition in medical and engineering exams is extremely intense. Under pressure, some students and parents look for shortcuts, which fraudsters exploit. Such incidents undermine the transparency of the education system and are unfair to hardworking students.

Police confirmed that the accused students will be interrogated to trace the source of the forged certificates. Authorities have vowed strict punishment for both the students and the masterminds behind the scam, stressing that strong action is necessary to deter future frauds.
