Amroha — A shocking case of fraud has come to light in the Health Department of Uttar Pradesh. It has been revealed that six different people were appointed to jobs under the name of the same person. After this scam came out in the investigation, the administration has summoned all the documents of Arpit Singh, the X-ray technician appointed in Amroha.

How the secret was revealed

The matter began in 2016, when recruitment of X-ray technicians took place in the Health Department. Appointments were recorded in the name of Arpit Singh in several districts: Rampur, Moradabad, Bijnor, Meerut, and Amroha. For a long time, no one suspected anything. But in 2022, when one Arpit Singh, posted in Amroha, was transferred to Balrampur, suspicion deepened.

In the investigation, it was found that the different “Arpit Singhs” working at different places were actually different people, but all had used the same name and allegedly similar documents.

Recovery of ₹55 lakh

Against one Arpit Singh posted in Rampur, the department has even initiated direct financial action. The allegation is that in obtaining the job and withdrawing salaries, he caused the department a loss of ₹55 lakh. The Health Department has requested the police to begin the recovery process.

Accused missing

It is noteworthy that Arpit Singh, whose documents were summoned, disappeared from Amroha as soon as the investigation began. The department officials admitted that the verification process of documents at the initial level was extremely careless.

Deepening suspicion

Preliminary information received from the CMO level suggests that not just one person, but an organized gang may be involved in this scam, which took advantage of loopholes in the Health Department’s Human Resource portal and verification system.

Further action

The investigation has now reached a higher level. All district CMOs have been directed to match the documents of the X-ray technicians recruited in 2016. Officials have expressed apprehension that this is not just one case, but may be part of a larger recruitment scam.
