A Noida farmer alleges that a doctor and his wife cheated him of ₹24 crore by promising shops and plots near the airport

How Did the Alleged ₹24 Crore Fraud Begin?

Noida Police have registered an FIR against a doctor and his wife following allegations that they cheated a farmer from Rohillapur village of ₹24 crore by promising commercial shops, a food court and a wine shop at Noida International Airport, along with other property investments.

According to the complaint, the accused, identified as Dr Nitendra and his wife Robin Gaur, allegedly persuaded farmer Manoj Kumar to invest money by presenting several proposed commercial and residential developments. Police have begun investigating the financial transactions and allegations made by the complainant.

Manoj said his family had received substantial compensation following the acquisition of their agricultural land. The accused allegedly became aware of these funds and approached him with investment proposals.

What Investment Schemes Were Offered?

According to Manoj, the alleged deception began in 2022 and continued until November 2025. The accused reportedly promised commercial space at Jewar airport, a medical device park under the Yamuna Authority and residential plots at discounted prices.

The complaint alleges that the accused used these proposals to collect approximately ₹24 crore through different transactions. The investments were presented under several schemes, including medical park bookings, plots in Sector 61, residential plots under a five-percent farmer quota and a project described as the UP Housing Project.

Manoj further alleged that the accused transferred money collected from him into different accounts. He also claimed that a 600-square-metre plot was registered in the accused’s name and subsequently sold for ₹8 crore.

The complainant said the accused strengthened their claims by arranging fake telephone conversations and using the names of senior officials to create an impression that the proposed investments had official backing.

How Was the Money Allegedly Used?

Manoj alleged that Dr Nitendra used a substantial portion of the money to purchase a luxury villa in Noida and establish a hospital in Bulandshahr.

When the farmer subsequently sought possession of the promised shops and plots as work on the airport progressed, the accused allegedly began avoiding his requests.

According to the complaint, they eventually claimed that the entire amount had been paid to officials and could not be recovered. These allegations, including the claimed property purchases and financial transfers, form part of the complaint being examined by police.

What Action Have Police Taken?

The complainant alleged that when he demanded the return of his money, Dr Nitendra became hostile and threatened to kill him. He also claimed that hired criminals were deployed to intimidate him and discourage further demands for repayment. Following the complaint, police at the Expressway police station registered an FIR and initiated an investigation.

Noida Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhay Kumar Mishra confirmed that the case had been registered based on the complainant’s allegations and that investigators were examining the matter.

The investigation will examine the alleged investment arrangements, movement of funds and threats described in the complaint. The allegations against the accused remain subject to police investigation.
