The Special Investigation Team of the Criminal Investigation Department has arrested two relatives of Mithilesh Kumar Singh, director of examination agency ICN India, in connection with widening inquiries into alleged irregularities in the Combined Graduate Level examination. The suspects have been identified as Sumit Singh, who also worked as the agency director’s driver, and Bhanu Pratap Singh. Enforcement officers apprehended Sumit from Singh Mansion on Tonko Road in Hatia, while Bhanu Pratap was taken into custody from a residence in Ravindranagar near Tagore Hill in Ranchi. Both individuals were subsequently produced before a local court, which remanded them to judicial custody. Investigators noted that Bhanu Pratap had himself cleared the recruitment test and was already serving in government employment at the time of his arrest, introducing an acute operational focus on candidates who secured official postings through the suspected mechanism.

Suspects Allegedly Coached Aspirants at Morabadi Residence

Inquiries conducted by the investigating agency indicate that Mithilesh Kumar Singh allegedly coordinated specialized prep sessions for approximately a dozen candidates using the two arrested relatives. The tutoring took place at a residential property situated in Ravindranagar in the Morabadi area. According to investigators, participating aspirants were directed to memorize specific questions alongside corresponding answers prior to sitting for the recruitment test. Official records show that every candidate who took part in these closed sessions went on to successfully clear the examination. The Special Investigation Team is currently analyzing the precise composition of the study material provided during these meetings to ascertain whether the content directly mirrored confidential questions from the official question paper. Detectives are also examining whether candidates gained illicit foreknowledge unavailable to the broader pool of applicants.

Driver Transported Aspirants as Fellow Candidate Supervised Sessions

The investigation reveals that Sumit Singh allegedly transported selected candidates directly to the Ravindranagar house. During this timeframe, Bhanu Pratap Singh was simultaneously preparing to appear for the same competitive examination. Rather than merely participating, Bhanu Pratap allegedly teamed up with other associates inside the house to ensure that the brought candidates systematically committed the test answers to memory. Investigators are actively tracing additional individuals who attended or helped coordinate the sessions, suspecting that close associates of the examination company’s director played an instrumental role in facilitating access. The agency is also analyzing electronic communications, phone records, and relational links connecting the candidates, the arrested relatives, and agency administrators involved in the formal testing procedure.

Confessions from Selected Candidates Precipitated Arrest Operations

The formal apprehension of both suspects followed intensive interrogations of candidates who had qualified in the recruitment drive. During official questioning, several examinees disclosed the identities of the individuals who had hosted them in Ravindranagar and supplied the test materials for memorization. Acting on these admissions, the Special Investigation Team evaluated the roles played by Sumit and Bhanu Pratap before executing coordinated raids at both Ranchi locations. Investigators are now scrutinizing the gathered witness statements to map the entire network, establish whether further intermediaries assisted the enterprise, and verify how widely the test materials were circulated. The inquiry continues to track whether the pre-examination sessions formed part of an organized enterprise designed to compromise the integrity of the recruitment process.
