ASP Sniffer Dog Who Solved Over 47 Cases Breathe Her Last, Buried With State Honour

Muzaffarnagar: With moist eyes and a heavy heart, cops and senior officers bid a teary farewell to one of their own. The entire Muzaffarnagar district police force came together to bid their last respect to a four-legged Additional Superintendent who helped in solving over 47 critical cases in her six years of service.

Sniffer dog Tinki joined forces in 2013 but died on Monday due to infection. The German Shepard was trained in BSF camp Tekanpur area in Madhya Pradesh. Post her training, she joined sniffer dog squad in the district.

Tinki joined the forces as a head constable, but her sharp sense of sniffing and scanning the crime stop took her to the level on ASP in six years.

During her six years of service, she cracked close to 47 critical cases of murder, robbery, theft etc by sniffing the spot, evidence and people related to the cases.

It was in 2007 when she helped the police in solving a blind murder case after reaching the spot after nine days of the murder. A man from the areas was missing and it was suspected that he was killed. Tinki not only helped in recovering the body of the man but also solved the case by identifying the killer.

Similarly, in January 2019, she helped the cops in recovering the body of a missing doctor deep inside the jungle. She along with her handler walked over 10 kilometres to track the body.

But it was during the last few months when she got an infection in her stomach. Finally, she scummed to her infections at Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Hospital Meerut. Her handler Mahesh told the media that she had helped in many blind murder cases. Muzaffarnagar SSP Abhishek Yadav also paid last respects to the canine.
