What Is Operation Digital Kavach?

The Uttar Pradesh Cyber Crime Headquarters will organise a series of online awareness sessions as part of National Cyber Security Awareness Month 2026. The initiative, promoted by the Crime Branch of Lucknow Police, aims to educate citizens about emerging cyber threats, financial fraud and safe digital practices.

What Topics Will Be Covered?

The sessions will address several aspects of online safety, beginning with the recovery of money lost to cyber fraud on October 22. The October 23 session will explain issues involving frozen bank accounts, while October 24 will focus on mobile security and malicious APK files.

Computer safety will be discussed on October 26, followed by cyber risks affecting children on October 27. Password and account security will be covered on October 28, online cybercrime complaints on October 30, and website and social media security on October 31.

How Will the Sessions Help Citizens?

According to ADCP Kiran Yadav, the programme will provide practical guidance on recognising cyber fraud, protecting financial information, securing electronic devices and responding to online offences. Special attention will be given to financial scams, phishing attacks, malware and the risks associated with downloading applications from unverified sources.

Police said increasing digital adoption has made preventive education an important part of efforts to reduce cybercrime. The sessions are intended to help citizens protect their bank accounts, personal information and online identities.

How Can People Participate?

Residents have been encouraged to attend the online sessions and share the information with family members, friends and community groups. Programme details and viewing links will be circulated through the department’s official social media accounts, including X and Instagram under @lkopolice, alongside its Facebook presence and @lucknowcyberpolice.

Police said the campaign forms part of continuing efforts to improve public awareness of increasingly sophisticated online threats.
