UP Police Busts Cyber Gang Behind Fake Death Certificates and Aadhaar Cards

MAHARAJGANJ : A raid in Maharajganj was conducted to target a gang involved in creating fake documents like birth certificates and Aadhaar cards. The raid was successfully carried out on 24.08.2024, leading to the arrest of the culprits.

Modus Operandi:

The arrested individuals were involved in forging fake Aadhaar cards, birth certificates, and committing online fraud. The main accused, Mahendra Prajapati, a primary school teacher from Chanda Khas in Nichloul, Maharajganj, used the ID of Maharajganj district’s IDO to create fake documents such as Aadhaar cards and birth certificates. They were arrested under FIR No. 16/2024, charged with sections 319(2), 318(4), 336(3), 338, 61(2), 340(2) BNS, 66(D) IT Act, and the Aadhaar Act of 2016, and were sent to jail after the registration of 35 criminal cases.
