5. Elderly Man Duped by Fake Doctor Profile, Loses Rs 17 Lakh in Online Scam
A woman was scammed out of Rs 17.8 lakh after being manipulated into making 86 online transfers. Fraudsters, posing as officials, claimed a man was detained at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Airport with excess US dollars. The victim transferred funds for fake fees, realizing the fraud only later and reporting it.
