NTR District Commissioner SV Raja Sekhara Babu expects 15 lakh devotees during Vijayawada’s Dasara festivities and is promoting the ‘Cyber Citizen’ app to raise cybercrime awareness. The app, featuring videos on cybercrime prevention, aims for 2 lakh downloads during the event, adding to its 1 lakh downloads by September 2024.
4. DoT to Launch Central System to Block Spoofed Calls; Service Providers Already Blocking 45 Lakh Daily
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has launched a system to identify and block spoofed international calls targeting Indian subscribers. In collaboration with Telecom Service Providers, the initiative aims to combat cybercrime, with one-third of spoofed calls already being blocked.
