To Create Cyber Awareness On Banking Frauds Hdfc Bank Launches “Mooh Band Rakho” Campaign

New Delhi: At the time when banking fraud is rising at a sharp pace, role and responsibility of banks come under question.  In order to spread cyber awareness among customer, HDFC Bank on Monday has announced the launch of its campaign “Mooh Band Rakho”. The campaign aims to increase awareness on cyber frauds and preventing them.

“Mooh Band Rakho” campaign was launched by Retd. Lt General Dr Rajesh Pant, National Cyber Security Co-ordinator and Jimmy Tata, Chief Risk Officer, HDFC Bank in a virtual event.

India, National Cyber Security Coordinator Lt Gen (retd) Rajesh Pant said every day, 4 lakh malware are found and 375 cyber-attacks are witnessed. “…cyber-attacks have gone up multi-fold. There are 4 lakh malware, we find every day. 375 cyber-attacks take place,” Pant said at an event organised by largest private sector lender HDFC Bank.

He said apart from falling prey to voice call-based frauds, people should also be very careful about the click-baits, which are deployed to extract information from an internet user.

Under this campaign, the bank will be conducting 1,000 workshops in the next 4 months across the country.

The campaign will talk about following simple steps such as not sharing card details, CVV, Expiry Date, OTP Net Banking/ Mobile Banking Login ID & Password over Phone, SMS, email and social media can help the general public keep their money safe.

It supports the International Fraud Awareness Week 2020, the global movement to minimise the impact of fraud which is being held from November 15 – 21. This is the second year HDFC Bank is participating in this. The “Mooh Band Rakho” campaign was initially launched by the bank to fight COVID 19 and it has now been extended to fighting cyber fraud.

“This campaign is the need of the hour as more and more individuals are accessing banking services online. This has gathered momentum during the pandemic,” said Jimmy Tata, Chief Risk Officer, HDFC Bank.
