Protect Yourself from Cybercrime: Delhi Police's Campaign for Safer Internet Month

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Police is commemorating Safer Internet Month by uploading and promoting videos about cyber awareness every day beginning Monday, according to officials.

A senior police officer stated the campaign was started from Monday which is commemorated as ‘safer internet day’.

“Through this campaign (Cool bano idiot nahi), our motive is to promote awareness about the cyber crime which is spreading now a days rapidly. Every day until February 28th, a one-minute video will be posted. “This is for people of all ages,” the officer explained.

The film, which is interspersed with music and message, talks about creative awareness in a comical way in order to reach a wider audience, they claimed.

Every day, the video features a different topic, such as earning money from home, insurance frauds, ransomware updates, WhatsApp and social media fake accounts, cyber bullying, sextortion – video calls, lottery or reward scams, dating apps, protecting your information during the holiday online shopping season, payment gateway frauds, and so on, according to police.

The police department had tweeted a video with the tagline “Raise your awareness of potential online threats as we all mark Safer Internet Day” on Monday. The Delhi Police recommends residents to use the internet properly and cautiously in order to protect themselves from cyber fraud and crime. #FoolNahiCoolBane.
