Meta India Head Ajit Mohan Quits With Immediate Effect
NEW DELHI: Social media giant Meta on Thursday said its India head Ajit Mohan has resigned from the company with immediate effect, according to reports.
Mohan was earlier with content streaming platform Hotstar and had joined Meta in 2019, when it was known as Facebook, as its Vice President and Managing Director for India.
He has decided to step down from his role at the Mark Zuckerberg-led technology platform to pursue another opportunity outside of the company, according to reports.

“Over the last four years, Ajit Mohan played an important role in shaping and scaling our India operations so they can serve many millions of Indian businesses, partners and people,” Meta, Global Business Group Vice President, Nicola Mendelsohn said in a statement.
“We remain deeply committed to India and have a strong leadership team in place to carry on all our work and partnerships. We are grateful for Ajit’s leadership and contribution and wish him the very best for future,” Mendelsohn said.
Launched in 2004 as Facebook, Meta says it currently has 1.98 billion daily active users on average for September 2022 including a major chunk of consumers from India.
