MAU, UTTARPRADESH: A massive fake document employment racket has been exposed, where 86 individuals, including senior education department officials, have been booked. The accused allegedly secured government jobs using forged educational certificates and falsified documents. The case has caused shockwaves across the district, raising serious concerns over recruitment integrity in the education sector.

BSA and ABSA Under the Scanner

The FIR alleging fraud was filed by District Social Welfare Officer Rashmi Mishra of Mau, UP, against 86 people, including 42 teachers who got jobs with the help of fake documents. Among those named in the FIR are the then BSA-ABSA of Fatehpur Mandav, Ghosi, and the then BEO of Mohammadabad Gohna, both are accused of facilitating or ignoring the fraudulent entries during recruitment drives. After receiving complaints about people getting jobs using fake documents, an investigation was conducted by the Social Welfare Department, suspecting that the scam may have been running for years, allowing unqualified individuals to draw salaries from public funds while depriving eligible candidates of opportunities. The racket drive uncovered glaring mismatches between submitted certificates and official educational records. Cross-checks revealed that several appointees had never attended the institutions mentioned in their documents. Further scrutiny showed a pattern suggesting an organised network operating with internal collusion.

Police and Administrative Action
Following the complaint, police registered a case under sections related to fraud, forgery, and cheating. Raids are underway to seize incriminating evidence, including original fake certificates, application files, and digital records. Authorities are also examining the bank account details of the accused to track suspicious salary withdrawals and financial transactions.

Impact on the Education System
The revelation has sparked outrage among teachers’ associations and residents, who have demanded swift action and a complete overhaul of the recruitment process. Experts warn that such scams not only compromise education quality but also erode public trust in governance. The investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are likely as the probe widens to uncover the full scale of the conspiracy.
