Instagram Down: Several Users Reported Technical Issues While Using The App

NEW DELHI: Instagram is down in numerous parts of the world owing to unspecified issues. According to Downdetector, a platform that monitors internet outages, Instagram services went down around an hour ago, with reports of the outage peaking at roughly 12.15 p.m.

The outage appears to be wreaking the most havoc in India, with large swaths of consumers saying that they are unable to access Instagram in places such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chennai. Facebook has not yet acknowledged the downtime, but it will most certainly address the issue through public communication channels.

The cause of the outage is unknown at this time, and Facebook will provide more information after performing an investigation. However, the outage appears to have impacted a large number of services on the platform.

According to Instagram users who took to Twitter and Downdetector’s forum to report issues, the feed is not refreshing, DMs are not working, and profiles are producing an error when accessed. Initially, individuals assumed there was a problem with their internet connection, but people quickly began to report problems.

Around 12.30 p.m., Downdetector’s website displayed over 3,000 outage reports from the Indian region. We were able to confirm independently that Instagram was not responding. Not only were the DMs and photo feed down, but the Reels were also down, with an error stating that the feed could not be refreshed.
