Trolls Mock Infant’s Skin, Actress Hits Back

Television actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee has taken legal action against online hate after her seven-month-old son, Joy, became the subject of racist trolling. The actor filed a cybercrime complaint against hateful comments directed at her baby’s complexion, marking the first time she has responded publicly to protect her child.  She has approached the Indian Cyber Police through Instagram and submitted screenshots of the abusive comments, prompting swift action.  In a heartfelt post, Devoleena emphasized that this fight is not just about her child being trolled on social media platforms but about broader societal intolerance and discrimination that exists in our country. She explained that as an actress, she is accustomed to criticism of her work or marriage, but the hate directed at her son crossed a line. She has taken a legal route to ensure no one is forgiven and that no other parents and children suffer from such a case in the future.

Fight Against Trolls Becomes Stand Against Racism

In her post she firmly stated that her action is a stand to fight racism, adding that she looks forward to a society free from discrimination, where each one of us can exercise and enjoy our human right without any racial prejudice and attitude disrespectful to another, she urged her followers to not entertain the trolls but let them face consequences of their action and to remind them that racism is a crime. The cybercrime police have taken the matter seriously and are helping her, though many accounts that trolled her son are no longer on social media, but still, they will be traced and face repercussions from the department.
