A cyber crime and surveillance team raided a call centre in Kanpur’s Jajmau area on Monday evening and questioned 10 employees, including men and women, for several hours. Officials examined computers, documents and other records at the premises, while the exact reason for the action was not officially disclosed.
Call Centre Raided in Jajmau
The action was carried out at a call centre operating from a building near Madina Masjid in the KDA area of Jajmau.
A cyber crime and surveillance team reached the premises in the evening and began checking the centre and questioning employees. The operation continued late into the night and reportedly lasted for about six hours.
The call centre had reportedly started operating from the second floor of the building around two months ago.

10 Employees Questioned
Around 10 employees were present at the call centre when the team arrived. Officials stopped them from leaving and questioned them about the functioning of the centre.
The employees included both men and women. Investigators continued questioning them for several hours while examining the premises.
People inside the call centre were also prevented from discussing the matter during the operation, while media personnel were not allowed to enter.

After the action at the call centre, Jajmau police also reached the homes of some employees and conducted searches.
Family members of some employees were present outside the premises while officials continued their questioning and examination of records.
The action remained underway as investigators continued looking into people and material linked to the call centre.
