A woman accused of posing as a trainee IAS officer and Additional Director with Madhya Pradesh Tourism (MPT) is facing another fraud case after allegedly taking around ₹50 lakh from a man by promising to arrange a hotel lease.
Baghsewania police have registered a case against Tripti Singh, her brother Sudhanshu Singh and associate Prakhar. It is the second FIR against Tripti Singh at Baghsewania police station, while two other cases are already pending against her in Ashoknagar.

Seoni Man Allegedly Paid ₹50 Lakh for Hotel Lease
According to police, Gagan Upvanshi, 31, from Seoni, approached the accused after being assured that they could arrange a hotel lease through Madhya Pradesh Tourism.
The accused allegedly used their claimed positions and identities to gain his confidence. Upvanshi was then allegedly asked to pay money for the promised lease and ultimately paid around ₹50 lakh.
The lease was reportedly not provided despite the passage of considerable time.
The complainant subsequently began checking the claims made by the accused and allegedly discovered that Tripti Singh was not an IAS officer. He then approached Baghsewania police and sought action.
Police registered the case late Tuesday night under sections relating to cheating and other offences. Investigators are now examining the financial transactions and the alleged roles of all three accused.
Earlier Case Alleged ₹39.17 Lakh Fraud
The latest FIR follows another case registered against Tripti Singh at Baghsewania police station.
In that case, a Balaghat resident accused Tripti Singh, Sudhanshu Singh, Prakhar Singh and other associates of allegedly cheating him of ₹39.17 lakh.
The complainant in that case also alleged that Tripti posed as a trainee IAS officer and Additional Director with MPT. The accused allegedly promised to arrange hotel and resort leases and secure employment in exchange for payments.
According to that complaint, ₹35.30 lakh was allegedly taken for the lease and another ₹3.87 lakh for securing a job. The complainant alleged that only ₹1 lakh was later returned through an online transfer.
Four FIRs Now Linked to Tripti Singh
Police said two cases had already been registered against Tripti Singh in Ashoknagar. With the two FIRs registered at Baghsewania, the number of cases against her has reached four based on the police information available so far.
Ashoknagar police had earlier searched the accused’s residence.
Baghsewania police have now travelled to Ashoknagar seeking Tripti Singh’s production remand. If the court grants the request, investigators are expected to question her about the alleged transactions, the identities she claimed to hold and the involvement of other people.
Police are also examining how potential victims were approached and how much money may have been collected in the name of hotel leases or jobs.
Police Tracing Money and Documents
A major part of the investigation will be determining what happened to the money allegedly collected from the complainants.
Investigators are examining bank transactions and other financial records to trace the approximately ₹50 lakh allegedly paid by Upvanshi. They are also looking at documents and identity-related claims that may have been used to convince victims.
Police are trying to establish whether the latest complaint and the earlier cases are connected and whether more people may have been approached using similar promises.
The allegations in the latest case remain under investigation. The eventual role of Tripti Singh and the other accused will depend on the evidence collected and the outcome of the legal proceedings.
