CD Projekt Red’s newest patch for Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t a narrative overhaul but it does breathe thrilling new life into Night City. With features like AutoDrive, expanded customization, Mac support, and a revamped photo mode, Update 2.3 is designed to boost immersion and give players more freedom than ever behind the wheel and camera.
AutoDrive and Cinematic Cruising Redefine the Journey
The standout feature of Update 2.3 is AutoDrive, a much-requested quality-of-life improvement that allows players to sit back as their vehicle navigates the city. The car adheres to traffic rules, stops at red lights, and disengages during combat. This function not only removes the monotony of driving through Night City but also elevates the narrative by letting players focus on storytelling or visual enjoyment.
Complementing AutoDrive is the cinematic cruising camera, which cycles through dramatic angles while in motion—perfect for players looking to create immersive videos or just appreciate the city’s dystopian beauty.
Customization Overhaul: Paint Jobs, Photo Filters, and NPC Style Swaps
TwinTone and CrystalCoat now support 32 vehicles, offering over 370 new paint schemes (168 unique and 205 generic). Even low-tier cars can now get a sleek visual upgrade, enhancing player expression.
Photo mode, too, gets a major overhaul. Players can spawn 27 new NPCs, swap character outfits, change weather and lighting conditions, and even use frame skips to get the perfect action shot. New Look-At systems and color filters allow for creative cinematography on par with professional-grade visuals.
More Cars, Better Tech, and a Debut on Apple Silicon
Four new vehicles—including the Yaiba ARV-Q340 and Caliburn “Mordred” have been introduced, each tied to side quests. The update also marks the long-awaited Mac debut of Cyberpunk 2077, supporting frame generation, ray tracing, and HDR on Apple XDR displays.
Tech upgrades don’t stop there: AMD FSR 3.1, Intel XeSS 2.0, and console VRR are now supported, making visuals crisper and gameplay smoother across platforms. Smaller changes like inverted mouse prompt adjustments and fixed shard drops reflect CDPR’s continued commitment to refining player experience.
