1. Ludhiana: Four Duped of Rs34 Lakh by Cyber Fraudsters in Khanna
A Khanna-based couple and two others lost Rs34.51 lakh to cyber fraudsters through fake investment apps and fraudulent job offers. Victims were lured via Instagram and Telegram, with promises of high returns. The cybercrime police in Khanna have registered four FIRs, as the fraudsters vanished after receiving the money.
2. Beware of ‘Digital Arrest’: The Newest Cyber Scam
A pedigreed industrialist, retired bureaucrat, scientist, ex-police officer, and lawyer, all well-educated, fell victim to a cyber scam known as ‘digital arrest.’ Cybercriminals conned them using fear of law enforcement. The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) issued an advisory clarifying that digital arrests don’t exist, urging vigilance.
3. Hyderabad: Fake Senior CTS HR Caught in ‘Mass Hiring’ Scam
Cyberabad cybercrime police arrested Reshma, alias Swapna, in Kalaburagi, Karnataka, for posing as a senior HR manager at Cognizant and scamming job seekers of Rs58.75 lakh. Along with accomplices, she promised jobs at MNCs, collected advance payments, and then disappeared. Police warn against paying for job offers.
4. Gurugram Police Uncover Cyber Fraud Gang
Gurugram Police arrested 14 individuals involved in a Rs3.58 crore cyber fraud scheme that spanned across India. The suspects created fake profiles to scam victims, with 45 cases filed against them. The crackdown, led by ACP Priyanshu Diwan, resulted from investigations into 893 complaints linked to the fraud network.

5. National Cybercrime Helpline Call Centre Launched in Punjab
Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav inaugurated a national cybercrime helpline call center and a chatbot to assist fraud victims. The helpline, operational since 2021, enables swift freezing of funds in cyber fraud cases. The Cyber Mittar chatbot provides 24/7 assistance, enhancing fraud reporting and resolution across the state.

Dutch police, in a joint operation with UK, US, and Irish law enforcement, have dismantled the dual dark web marketplace Bohemia/Cannabia, one of the largest platforms for illegal goods and cybercrime services. The operation led to arrests, the seizure of €8 million in cryptocurrency, and disrupted a major international criminal network.
