IIM Graduate Arrested in Noida for Exploiting 20 Girls in NCR via Premium Matrimonial Sites

Greater Noida:  Bisrakh Police have arrested a clever conman who has allegedly duped over 20 women across Delhi-NCR by trapping them in romantic relationships. The accused, identified as Rahul Chaturvedi an IIM graduate, hails from Sahara Building in Lucknow. After luring women into his web of deceit, Chaturvedi would defraud them of money and expensive items. He created multiple fake profiles on matrimonial sites under different names and used these to establish relationships with women. Following his arrest, the police presented him in court, and he has been sent to jail.

Created Profile on Jeevansathi.com
The accused, Rahul Chaturvedi, set up a profile on Jeevansathi.com and Better Half, where he falsely presented himself as an HR Regional Manager at Wipro. Using these platforms, he connected with several women, collected their phone numbers, and then ensnared them in a romantic relationship under the false promise of marriage. He swindled expensive items like iPhones, costly mobile phones, and money. A case was registered against him at Bisrakh Police Station based on the complaint of a victim, who reported that Chaturvedi defrauded her of Rs 2 lakh in cash and took her iPhone. Additional complaints against him were filed at Beta Two Police Station.

Confession During Interrogation
During questioning, Chaturvedi confessed to having trapped 20 women in his scam. To substantiate his fake identity, he created forged salary slips from Wipro, showing himself as a high-ranking executive. In one instance, he promised a foreign trip to a woman after showing her these salary slips. In other cases, he extorted two phones from one victim, Rs 2 lakh from another, and even had a third woman buy him several pairs of expensive shoes.

  • After promising marriage, he would also attempt to meet the women’s families to further gain their trust.
  • Chaturvedi’s background as an IIM graduate gave him credibility, making it easier for him to gain the women’s confidence.

The police are currently investigating if there are more victims involved in this extensive fraud.
