New Ransomware Alert: CERT-In Warns of ‘Akira’ Ransomware Menace

NEW DELHI: The Indian government’s Computer Emergency Response Team-India (CERT-In) has issued a critical advisory warning citizens and organizations about a potent ransomware threat named “Akira.”

This malicious software, capable of infiltrating both Windows and Linux-based systems, poses a significant risk by compromising sensitive information and encrypting data, leading to potential extortion.

Sophisticated Tactics of “Akira” Ransomware

The advisory by CERT-In highlighted the intricate tactics employed by the creators of the “Akira” ransomware. The attackers behind this insidious malware operate with stealth, surreptitiously pilfering crucial information from the victim’s system.
