Tirupati: 3 Arrested For Uploading 21 Child Pornography Videos
TIRUPATI: Tirupati city police arrested three people for allegedly uploading child pornography videos on the internet.
The National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) helped incracking the case. It creates tipline reports of child pornography by monitoring websites, search engines, and numerous social media platforms, according to Tirupati SP CH Venkata Appala Naidu.
The accused were tracked down and detained using their IP addresses and locations by the Mahila police station with the help of the cyber crime wing. Those arrested have been identified as K Kishore Babu (28), K Sai Srinivas (30), and C Muni Kamal.
Police said on various occasions in 2020, the trio uploaded a total of 21 child pornography movies. The POCSO Act and the Information Technology Act were used by the police to file cases.
Sharing child pornography on social media sites, according to the SP, is a serious offence, and the public is advised to desist from doing so.
According to recent research by the NGO India Child Protection Fund (ICPF), child pornography content consumption in India increased by 95% during the lockdown.
According to statistics from internet data monitoring companies, searches for terms like “child porn,” “sexy child,” and “teen sex films” have increased, according to the study, which cited data from pornography website Pornhub.
Any content that displays sexually explicit behaviours involving a child is referred to as child pornography. Photographs, films, and digital or computer-generated images that are indistinguishable from a real minor are examples of visual portrayals.
