The cyber cell traced the funds and apprehended the suspects, with investigations revealing a larger embezzlement scheme.

The RBI has warned banks of potential cyberattacks and advised them to enhance their cybersecurity measures. Banks are now on high alert, monitoring systems like SWIFT and UPI. Lucknow’s cyber unit made its first “digital arrest” by apprehending three criminals posing as CBI officers, who defrauded a woman of Rs 2.71 crore and a man of Rs 43 lakh through a Skype call scam. The mastermind, Yashpal, operated from Dubai, using operatives in small cities to transfer funds.
4. Samba Police Cyber Unit Refunds Rs 74,196 to CISF Jawan, Cracks Down on Online Fraud
The Samba police’s Cybercrime Investigation Unit solved an online fraud case, refunding Rs 74,196 to a CISF jawan from Rajasthan. The jawan was cheated through a phishing link on a mobile app. The unit has refunded a total of Rs 4,84,106 in defrauded amounts since its inception.
5. Aadhaar Card Scam: Cyber Criminals Dupe Software Engineer of Rs 12.5 Lakh
A software engineer in Pune lost Rs 12.5 lakh to cyber criminals who posed as police officers, threatening her with arrest for alleged money laundering and drug trafficking. They extracted her bank information through a Skype call. police have registered a fraud case and advise citizens to be cautious and report such incidents immediately.

The States of Guernsey’s IT network faced a cyber attack, forcing deputies out of their email accounts. Passwords were reset without warning, and politicians were locked out of systems as a precaution.
