Lured via WhatsApp with promises of high returns, the couple invested in fake shares, leading to massive losses. Police investigations are ongoing.

2. Rs 1 Lakh Lost Over Rs 500 Grocery Purchase: How an Ahmedabad Woman Fell Victim to Cyber Fraud

A 35-year-old Ahmedabad woman lost Rs 1 lakh to cyber fraud while trying to expedite a Rs 500 grocery delivery. Misled by a fraudulent contact found online, she was directed to share her banking details and make a small transaction, leading to multiple unauthorized debits. Police and cybercrime units are investigating.

3. Three Arrested for Using Woman’s Bank Account in Cyber Scam

Three youths were detained in East Burdwan for using a woman’s bank account to funnel illicit funds from Jharkhand and Bihar over several months. Posing as helpers, they accessed her ATM and transferred black money, collecting “rent” in return. Police are probing the case to apprehend the gang’s mastermind.

4. In Jhajjar, Rs 1 Lakh Withdrawn from Man’s Account, Deduction Alert; Then OTP, Followed by Account Empty

In Haryana’s Jhajjar, cyber fraudsters are draining people’s bank accounts. A man initially noticed a Rs 13 deduction, followed by an OTP message. Before he could react, Rs 1.09 lakh was withdrawn from his account. After his complaint, a case was registered at the cyber police station for investigation.

5. Indore: 71-Year-Old Man Falls Victim to Cyber Crime

A 71-year-old man in Khandwa Road, Indore, fell prey to a Rs 40.7 lakh cyber scam. Fraudsters posing as CBI and RBI officers threatened him with a fake arrest warrant, claiming suspicious transactions from a Mumbai account. Terrified, he transferred funds. Police have filed a case and investigations are underway.
