1. Cyber Gang Nabbed in Lucknow, Three Suspects Arrested
Lucknow police arrested three cyber criminals who scammed a man out of Rs 34 lakh by promoting fake gas agency ads on Facebook. Four suspects are still at large. The gang, operating from multiple cities, used fake SIM cards and social media to target victims. Rs 7 lakh has been frozen.

2. Fraudster Caught for Embezzling Rs 20.18 Lakh in Karimnagar
Telangana Cyber Security Bureau arrested Mohammed Asif Pasha for illegally transferring Rs 20.18 lakh from three bank accounts belonging to a woman and her deceased brother. The fraud was carried out with Jahangir, who is currently in hiding, using a SIM card linked to the victims’ accounts.

3. Kolkata Police Uncover Cambodia SIM Card Scam, Four Arrested
Kolkata police arrested four individuals involved in smuggling pre-activated SIM cards to Cambodia, which were used in cybercrimes. 361 SIM cards were found hidden in coffee bottle lids. The investigation revealed that the SIMs had been issued in Kolkata and smuggled via a private courier service.

4. Telangana Police Apprehend SIM Card Fraudster Linked to Cybercrime
Telangana Cyber Security Bureau arrested Mohammed Asif Pasha for SIM card fraud, where he and an accomplice, Jahangir, siphoned Rs 20.18 lakh from the accounts of Md Samiuddin and his sister Sabiha Sulthana using fraudulent SIM reactivation. Jahangir remains at large.

5. Cyber Crooks Scam Rs 2.62 Crore from Two Navi Mumbai Residents Using Various Tactics
Two Navi Mumbai residents were collectively duped of Rs 2.62 crore by cyber crooks using different tactics. A 72-year-old man lost Rs 1.34 crore in a stock market scam, while a couple was scammed out of Rs 1.28 crore by criminals posing as government officials threatening legal action.

7. Sweden Accuses Iran of Cyberattack Following Quran Burning Protests
Sweden’s security service, Sapo, accused Iran of hacking a text message service to send 15,000 messages inciting violence after Quran burnings. The group Anzu, linked to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, accessed private data to create social divisions. Iran denied the accusations.
