1. Retired Cop Defrauded of Rs 10.60 Lakh in Part-Time Job Scam
A retired police inspector from Mumbai lost Rs 10.60 lakh in a cyber fraud job scam. He was lured with a work-from-home offer via WhatsApp and completed tasks, but later was asked to deposit more money. Suspecting fraud, he contacted the police.
2. Ludhiana Businessman Loses Rs 1 Crore to Cyber Fraud
Cybercriminals duped Ludhiana businessman Rajnish Ahuja of Rs 1.01 crore by falsely claiming his involvement in an extortion case. Fearing arrest, Ahuja transferred large sums of money before realizing it was a scam. The police are investigating.

3. Cyber Criminals Exploit Chanda Kochhar’s Name in Fraud Scheme
Cybercriminals used former ICICI Bank CEO Chanda Kochhar’s arrest to trick a 28-year-old into sending Rs 14 lakh. Posing as legal authorities, they claimed the victim was involved in money laundering, leading to an FIR by cyber police.
4. Cyber Crime Impersonating Bhopal Collector Under Police Investigation
Cybercriminals impersonated the Bhopal Collector on WhatsApp, using his photo and name to demand money from victims. The police are investigating, verifying that the WhatsApp account is not owned by the SIM cardholder linked to the scam.

Formed after the Russo-Ukrainian war began, they use Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) and malicious tools like Cobalt Strike to cripple networks and leak sensitive data.
7. Kinetic Cyber-Attacks in Lebanon Introduce New Warfare Tactics
Hezbollah members’ pagers and walkie-talkies were remotely detonated, killing 12 and injuring over 3,000 in an attack likely orchestrated by Israeli intelligence. The incident exposed Hezbollah’s communication vulnerabilities, increasing caution within the group and boosting Israeli morale.
