1. The Great Deception: Monitoring the Surge in Cybercrime in Delhi-NCR
A Delhi manufacturer, Lalit Kumar Sharma, fell victim to an investment scam after joining WhatsApp groups via a Facebook link. Initially profiting from small investments, he later lost Rs 8 lakh when he was convinced to buy IPOs, which he was then unable to cash out.

2. “You’ve Acquired a New Device”: Trio Arrested for Cyber Fraud in Gurgaon
Three individuals, Mani Chaubey, Khushwant Goit, and Rohit Singh, were arrested in Gurgaon for impersonating Samsung officials. They duped victims by promising new phones, collected payments, and then vanished, leaving victims with no recourse. The cyber police tracked and arrested them.

3. UP Police Uncover Cyber Ring Behind Fake Death Certificates and Aadhaar Cards
A raid in Maharajganj led to the arrest of a gang forging Aadhaar cards and birth certificates. The primary accused, Mahendra Prajapati, a school teacher, used official IDs to create fake documents. They were charged under multiple sections and 35 criminal cases were registered.

4. Hyderabad Police Dismantle Cyber Crime Network; 36 Arrested in Gujarat
Hyderabad Police dismantled a Gujarat-based cyber crime network, arresting 36 people involved in scams, including investment and courier fraud. The operation recovered Rs 1.5 crore, seized assets worth Rs 2.8 crore, and linked the group to 983 cases across India, 131 in Telangana alone.

5. EOU May Probe Rs 4.4 Crore Cyber Fraud Involving Gaya Doctor
Dr. Abhay Narayan Rai of Gaya was defrauded of Rs 4.4 crore by cybercriminals posing as CBI officers. The Economic Offences Unit is considering taking over the investigation. The fraudsters transferred the money to 123 bank accounts, with Rs 61 lakh already frozen during the investigation.
