This Odisha IPS Officer’s Wife Became Victim Of Online Financial Fraud
BHUBANESWAR: Cybercriminals allegedly stole nearly Rs 10 lakh from Anuja Tripathy’s account, the wife of senior IPS officer Susant Nath.
According to sources, the issue came to light after Tripathy filed a complaint with the Cuttack Cyber Police, stating that unnamed miscreants fraudulently stole Rs 10.10 lakh from her salary account over the last two years, beginning in 2019.
In the last two years, there have been at least 31 unauthorised transactions from her account. Some transactions were up to Rs 90,000, which exceeded her transaction limit.
Tripathy also filed complaints with the bank ombudsman, pleading with them to repay her money.
Following this, a case was filed, and further investigation is underway to find the accused who committed the illegal act.
Notably, miscreants are said to have tried to deceive Odisha’s Crime Branch ADG, Sanjeeb Panda. However, the bid was thwarted in time by Odisha police.
Cops suspect that someone gained access to her debit card information and PIN.
In lieu of offers, the Nigerian fraudsters sent phoney messages to the Additional Director General (ADG), Crime Branch, Sanjeeb Panda.
