The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has issued a reminder to parents and guardians about mandatory biometric updates for children’s Aadhaar cards, marking the occasion of Children’s Day. As per UIDAI guidelines, two biometric updates are mandatory for a child’s Aadhaar. The first update should occur when the child reaches the age of 5, and the second when they turn 15. These updates are essential to maintain the accuracy of a child’s Aadhaar information, as biometric features like fingerprints and facial recognition can change significantly during growth.

In its message, UIDAI has assured parents that these updates are free of charge if completed within the specified age ranges of 5–7 years and 15–17 years. The organization has also provided an easy way to locate the nearest Aadhaar enrollment center, encouraging parents to scan the QR code for convenient access.

Through this initiative, UIDAI highlights its commitment to ensuring every child has a unique and accurate identification. It also aims to raise awareness among parents about the importance of timely biometric updates for Aadhaar, which plays a crucial role in accessing various services across the country.
