As India prepares for the phased enforcement of the newly released Data Protection Rules under the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act—with full effect scheduled 18 months from now—one training programme is emerging as a bellwether of industry readiness. The Future Crime Research Foundation (FCRF), an IIT-Kanpur–incubated think-tank known for its capacity-building initiatives across cybersecurity and technology law, has announced the second cohort of its Certified Data Protection Officer (CDPO) programme, following an unexpectedly strong response to its inaugural batch that trained more than 500 senior professionals from government, law enforcement, and industry.
