Beware Of Online Scammers Selling Land On The Moon On Social Media

BENGALURU: The Cyber Crime Police are on the lookout for a conman who is posing as a woman on social media and allegedly scamming people by selling land on the Moon as well as offering high profits on cryptocurrency investments.

The conman also advertised on social media with slogans like “Reserving moon land” and “Higher returns for the deposit made.”

The cyber crime police team initiated an inquiry after a victim approached the cops. Officials said they are following the money trail to find the conman.

According to the cops, the conman, Akash Narayana, is posing as Uska Abubakar on social media. Many people have been defrauded thus far, either by promising big returns on cryptocurrency investments or by selling them land on the Moon, according to investigations.

“By impersonating as Uska Abubakar, the conman was able to persuade victims to transfer money to a GooglePay account,” a police officer explained.

The transaction details of his account have been sought by cyber crime authorities, and efforts are being made to locate him.
