Meerut. A sensational case from Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut has triggered widespread discussion after a woman model alleged that she was subjected to physical, emotional, and financial exploitation for nearly a decade under the false promise of marriage. The complainant has claimed that she was forced to undergo multiple abortions, defrauded of lakhs of rupees, and later pressured to convert her religion.
False Promise Of Marriage Alleged
The woman, originally from the Azad Nagar area of Meerut, stated in her complaint that she moved to Delhi in 2015 and later to Mumbai to pursue a modelling career. During this period, she reportedly came in contact with a man named Wasil, who was allegedly associated with the same professional circle. According to her, the accused initially gained her trust by promising marriage and gradually began exerting control over her personal and professional life.

The complaint further states that the two entered into a live-in relationship in 2016, during which the accused allegedly manipulated her financially under the pretext of career support. The woman has claimed that a significant portion of her earnings was taken by the accused and his family, amounting to approximately ₹50–60 lakh over the course of their relationship.
Forced Abortions Claimed
One of the most serious allegations includes forced abortions, with the complainant stating that she was compelled to terminate pregnancies on three occasions. She further alleged that whenever she raised the issue of marriage, the accused repeatedly delayed and avoided commitment.
The situation escalated, according to the complaint, when she discovered in May 2026 that the accused was already married and living with his wife. The revelation reportedly led to a confrontation, after which the woman alleged she was assaulted, abused, and threatened by the accused and his family members.
Conversion Pressure Alleged
She has also claimed that she was told marriage would only be possible if she agreed to convert her religion, which she has described as coercive pressure. In her complaint, she termed the entire episode a “planned deception and exploitation” and demanded strict legal action against the accused and his family.
Following the complaint, authorities have initiated an investigation into the matter. Officials are currently examining financial transactions, communication records, and other digital and documentary evidence to verify the allegations and establish the sequence of events.
Probe Examines Financial Trail
Experts note that such cases often go beyond individual disputes and may involve long-term emotional manipulation, financial dependency, and exploitation of trust. With the rise of social media and online networking, similar cases of relationship-based fraud have been increasingly reported, where victims are gradually drawn into financial and psychological control.
Women’s rights groups have also reacted strongly to the allegations, stating that if proven true, the case reflects prolonged exploitation and betrayal of trust that has had a significant impact on the victim’s life over many years.
Investigators are currently reviewing all aspects of the case, including financial records, residential links, medical documentation, and communication history between the parties involved. Further legal action will depend on the outcome of the ongoing probe.
The case once again raises broader concerns about trust-based relationships turning into alleged exploitation, and highlights the growing need for awareness, early detection, and stronger safeguards against such forms of long-term financial and emotional abuse.
