Fake Police Inspector Arrested Posed as Delhi Officer, Duped Youth with Job Promises

RAJASTHAN: Anju Sharma, posing as a police inspector from Delhi, was recently arrested by Rajasthan Police for fraudulently obtaining VIP benefits and deceiving unemployed youth over the past three years. Churu district’s Sahwa Police detained Anju, a resident of Devgarh, after discovering her elaborate scheme. She reportedly convinced people in Delhi, Jaipur, and Haryana of her false role as a sub-inspector in Delhi Police, securing privileged services and earning trust in these areas.

According to Churu’s Superintendent of Police, Jai Yadav, authorities received information that Anju Sharma had been presenting herself as a senior police official, enjoying VIP status while exploiting unemployed youth by promising them government jobs in exchange for substantial sums of money. Police found a fake Delhi Police ID card, as well as photos and videos on her phone in which she appeared in a police uniform.

Upon her arrest, Anju confessed to fabricating her role in Delhi Police, even informing her neighbors and relatives that she had been serving as an officer for three years. She admitted to swindling large sums from people on the pretense of helping them secure government positions. An official complaint was also filed by Arjun Lal, who claimed that Anju had defrauded him of Rs 12.93 lakh by promising him a head constable position in Delhi Police. The investigation is ongoing.
