1. CBI Dismantles International Cyber Fraud Ring, Arrests Key Player in City
CBI and FBI busted a transnational cyber fraud ring, arresting Vishnu Rathi in Mumbai. Rathi’s syndicate defrauded an American citizen of Rs 3.7 crore via cryptocurrency scams. CBI seized gold, cash, and tech equipment, and continues investigations through INTERPOL.
2. ED Detains Four Youths from Thiruvallur for Involvement in Cyber Fraud; Lead Suspect Linked to Chinese Scammers
Four youths from Thiruvallur were arrested by ED for laundering money through shell companies in a cyber scam. They were linked to Chinese fraudsters, with Rs 2.8 crore frozen in a Bandhan bank account. ED has identified Rs 28 crore in crime proceeds.
