Over 7,000 Cops Trained By Delhi Police To Investigate Increasing Case Of Cyber Crime

NEW DELHI: Rakesh Asthana, Commissioner of Police in Delhi, on Wednesday said that about 7,000 employees had been trained in the last three months to properly handle cases of cybercrime. Asthana told reporters during an Indian Women’s Press Corps session, “We’ve built up cybercrime police stations in each police district.” They will begin operations on December 1.”

“The Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations team will help them,” Asthana stated. The speed with which cybercrime cases are registered and investigated will be accelerated. We are completely aware that the number of cybercrime instances is increasing by the day.”

Asthana urged the public to be watchful and sought cooperation from social media platforms for its campaign, saying, “Since the golden hour is critical in such situations, the victim must report the event through the Ministry of Home Affairs’ cyber helpline – 155260.”

According to a notice issued by the home department on November 17, it was deemed essential to establishing cyber police stations in each notified police district to investigate cybercrime crimes.

According to experts, more trained staff is required to address the growing issue of cyber crime. Everyone is impacted by one or other means of digital fraud. Trained staff can easily take and comprehend the victim’s complaints which can be further forwarded to a trained or specialized unit for investigation.

Cyber experts said like Delhi other state should also get dedicated police stations in each districts and train their policemen to deal with highly technical cases.
